Ymir

Ymir was the primordial giant, born from the interaction of ice and fire in the void of Ginnungagap. He is the ancestor of all jotnar (giants) and his body was slain by Odin and his brothers to create the world – his flesh became the earth, blood the seas, bones the mountains, and skull the sky.
