Godi

A Godi (or Gyoja for female) isn’t just a priest; they’re a chieftain-priest, a vital pillar of their community whose authority flows from both the gods and the loyalty of their followers.

They perform sacred rituals, interpret divine omens, and ensure the gods’ favor blesses their folk’s hunts, harvests, and journeys.  But a Godi also wields secular power, administering justice, settling disputes, and leading their people in war.  Their magic is practical and tied to the well-being of their clan and the land, making them both a spiritual guide and a worldly leader in equal measure.

Boomer D&D:  “We are brutal mercenaries who take whatever isn’t nailed down. We get killed because we didn’t understand the ten paragraph description of the trapped room.”
