Dvergar

Norse Dvergar (dwarfs) were master craftsmen and smiths, dwelling within mountains and the earth, renowned for creating magical treasures for the gods.  They are often described as short, stout beings with beards, associated with mining, wisdom, and sometimes greed.  Their origins are tied to the primordial giant Ymir’s flesh or the earth, and they are sometimes conflated with Dokkalfar in later sources due to their subterranean abodes and similar skills.

Boomer D&D:  “We are brutal mercenaries who take whatever isn’t nailed down. We get killed because we didn’t understand the ten paragraph description of the trapped room.”
