Hel

Both a chilling, gloomy underworld realm and the half-living, half-corpse daughter of Loki who rules over it.  This realm (often called Helheim) is the destination for most of the dead, particularly those who did not die valiantly in battle (e.g., from sickness or old age).  Hel herself is described as stern and inhospitable, embodying the finality of death.

Boomer D&D:  “We are brutal mercenaries who take whatever isn’t nailed down. We get killed because we didn’t understand the ten paragraph description of the trapped room.”
