The SCP IKEA store (SCP-3008)
Here’s an idea to place as a region of the megadungeon: SCP-3008. A weird IKEA store that has no exits.
This has a great way to play: factions in the “towns” that get built in different sections of the stores. Meet up with a lot of different inhabitants from other places that the Skein touches. Resource management. Eat a lot of chocolate and Swedish meatballs. Labyrinthine corridors that double back into themselves and may occasionally shift, just like in the Skein.
The source of chaos
I’m not exactly sure what the source of Chaos would be for the infinite Ikea that keeps it anchored to the Skein.
Inhabitants
Staff
Of course you’d have the faceless “staff,” probably a few different types. Perhaps there are “managers” that seem to be in charge and can use certain powers (like Animate Object)? If they are killed then all the other staff are stunned or just sort of wander off and do their own thing until a new manager shows up or one of their number evolves into the new manager in 3d6 turns.
For stats they would basically be like normal men with a couple hit dice and a wicked attack, or perhaps some would have fighter or thief levels and an uncanny ability to zone in on dead staff and any particular parts of staff.
Oh, and the staff are eerily unnatural. They don’t bleed. They don’t rot. They just persist… forever.
Comedic
Gibbering mouthers made of arguing couples and screaming children.
Golems made of furniture or other IKEA products.
Meatball golems that bleed lingonberry sauce.
Shambling mounds made of Allen wrenches, fasteners and tiny wooden dowels (only half damage from fire, they’re mostly metal!).
Creepy manifestations of a spectral IKEA Man.
Zero to hero
