Deuplasus, The Faceless Mother

The symbol of Deuplasus, The Faceless Mother Deuplasus is a giant mass of flesh, worshipped as a god by a cult of hedonists and seers deep within a hidden cave in the hills.  They call Deuplasus “the Faceless Mother” and use a symbol of a traditional fertility goddess, but typically with no legs or head.

Deuplasus’ physical form is a roughly disk-shaped mass of quivering, suppurating flesh about 35’ in diameter and 10’ high on average, with spots up to 15’ high.  The Faceless Mother grows bruised, deliquescing tumors across her surface, growing to be more than 80-100 pounds in less than a month.  As the masses grow heavier, they tear away from the body and plop to the ground where they writhe for several minutes until appendages or maws break through the surface and a unique creature bursts forth.  Some stay near its mother, some immediately leave, perhaps trying to escape the madness of its own creation and existence.

Some say that Deuplasus is sleeping, and should never be awakened.  No one knows what would happen if it awakened, but it seems unwise to find out.
