The Pumpkin Patch of the Ent-Hag

The Ent-Hag has a patch (about 30’ across) that grows special gourds patch deep within a peat bog in her demesne.  The crops grown there have many uses.

The first of these serve to give Jack o’ the Lantern his new lanterns.  The Ent-Hag uses Jack to learn of the world and help her make her plans.

Next, the gourds grown here are about the size of a man’s head, and some grow to the size of an ogre’s head!  If one takes a gourd about the size appropriate for the body, empties it, carves a face into it, places a candle made from the rendered fat of a human into the gourd and places it on a headless body, it will animate as a zombie and serve the one who carved the face.  As well, as long as the gourd zombie is standing on living vegetation it will regenerate 1 HP/round.  The gourd zombie is not strictly undead and cannot be turned, but it is still immune to spells affecting the mind as an undead.

Lastly, the pumpkin patch is protected by a taint of chaos in a giant pumpkin-beast at the center of the patch.  It cannot move as it has taken root, but it can reach out and attack anything within 25’ with tentacles made of vines.  Consider it equivalent to a frogemoth.
